The Faculty of Information adopts curricula in line with the communication revolution and technological development worldwide. The curricula include media sciences, technology, general culture, languages, etc. The research center at the Faculty includes a department for studies, research and documentation, and a center for media training.
Research Center
Description
The Research Center of the Faculty of Information was established by Decision No. 1589 dated 16 May 2016.
The Center aims to integrate research into the educational process and activate it in response to specialized and interdisciplinary professional and academic knowledge and application needs.
To achieve its objectives, the Center follows a general policy consisting of the following steps:
- Secure an appropriate research environment for the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
- Enable faculty members and students to prepare and produce basic, applied, and procedural research.
- Establish laboratories and research teams.
- Cooperate with research centers at the Lebanese University and abroad.
- Link the humanities with information science and digital technologies.
- Develop research plans and propose research topics by monitoring new research trends.
- Establish an information base to document faculty research, student papers, and theses.
- Publish a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences directly related to research projects.
- Establish research partnerships with research centers in Arab and foreign universities, as well as with the public and private sectors and local and international organizations.
